I’m Hannah. Books are my jam. I’m an avid reader and book lover. I went to Mills College where I got a degree in English/Creative Writing, and where I fell in love with book art and letterpress printing. After Mills I moved to London where I studied Book Art and got my graduate degree at Camberwell College.  For many years I was an indie bookseller at Diesel, A Bookstore (where I met my husband – he was a customer and I was the local “bookstore girl”), and most recently I was a publishing nerd at Chronicle Books.

At the start of 2017 I set a goal to read 40 books by the end of the year. In February I hit 20 so I increased my goal to 65 with hopes to reach 100 by the end of December. This a record of what I’m reading.

Literary fiction is my go-to. But I’ll also dive into a well-paced book of non-fiction. Poetry is a treat. I love a good mystery. And with the current political climate what it is in the US, I’m retreating more and more into well-written and totally entertaining fantasy.

I live in Oakland, California, with my husband and our two daughters, aged 6 and 3. When I’m not reading, you can find me walking in Oakland’s beautiful cemetery, working on my writing at Pizzaiolo, and taking our girls on adventures. Also, I love jumpsuits. And Outlander.
